Mike Lightfoot is the New Regional Director for Indiana and Michigan

Nations of Coaches is pleased to announce the hiring of Mike Lightfoot as the Regional Director for Indiana and Michigan.  Coach Lightfoot comes to Nations of Coaches with over 30 years of coaching experience.  We welcome Mike to the Nations of Coaches team and look forward to seeing this region of the country flourish as Mike strives to fulfill the mission of seeing coaches and all whom they influence impacted positively for the glory of God!

Coach Lightfoot received his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education (1978) from Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana and later his Master’s Degree in Education (1981) from Indiana University in South Bend, Indiana.

Coach Lightfoot held a number of positions in the coaching profession, ultimately returning to his alma mater, Bethel College, and served 30 years in various simultaneous capacities: Director of Athletic Development (2005-2017); Athletic Director (1986-2005) and Head Men’s Basketball Coach (1986-2017). While coaching at Bethel College, Lightfoot’s teams won seven National Championships and 21 Conference Championships.  He was honored as the Coach of the Year six times and inducted into the N.A.I.A. Hall of Fame in 2009.

Off the court, Coach Lightfoot helped develop young men into champions for Christ by leading some of his players on off-season mission trips, locally and abroad, and in regular Bible studies throughout the year.

Coach Lightfoot says, “Working with the Nations of Coaches team will be a blessing. I am excited to be a part of the NOC team because I have a deep passion for coaches and their ability to navigate the grind of the coaching profession while maintaining a balance in all areas of their lives. After 30 years of collegiate head coaching, I am hoping to bring those experiences and love of the game to help serve the coaches in my region.”
